This site targets WCAG 2.2 level AA. That is a standard, not a finish line, so this page also lists what we know is not perfect.
Our commitment
Level Up Foundation wants this website to work for everyone, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, magnification, or a small phone screen.
We have built toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have built in
Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure on every page.
A visible skip link, visible focus outlines, and full keyboard operation, including the mobile menu, the student feedback wall, and every form.
Text contrast checked against WCAG AA, tap targets at least 44 pixels, and text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel wide screen.
Descriptive alternative text on images. Handwritten student responses are also transcribed word for word so that screen reader users get the same content, without changing what the student wrote.
Forms with real labels, clear error messages linked to their fields, and status messages announced to assistive technology.
Motion that respects the reduced motion setting in your operating system. With that setting on, animations and the scrolling text band stop.
Known limitations
Student feedback is published as photographs of handwritten forms, because rewriting a student's words would defeat the purpose. Every one of those images carries a full transcript in its alternative text and in the enlarged view.
